Peacefully at Collingwood General Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2022 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Helena. Loving father of Cynthia (Martin) and Robert (Gidget). Cherished Opa of Alexandra and Emily, and great-Opa of Nicholas. Also missed by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Robert. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will follow on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks to the staff in the ER and ICU, Dr. Singh and Dr. Baird for their care and compassion. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rudolf are asked to consider The Salvation Army.

Cyndi, Marty and family, Robert and Gidget.. we are sending our love and sympathy to each of you, we are so very sad at the sudden passing of your beloved dad, dad-in-law, Opa, and great Opa. And our very long time friend. How grateful we are that we had him “in our Circle “ for so many years. His contagious smile, twinkling eyes and his lovely accent will linger in our memory forever. Dear family of Rudy, We have been informed of the sad passing of Rudy. We were able to meet Rudy and Leni in 2010 during our trip in Canada at Wasaga Beach. It were only two pleasant days, but they made an indelible impression on us. The love and warmth of Rudy and Leni was heartwarming. Rudy was soon called the soup king and master of the barbecue. What have we enjoyed. May we from Holland wish you a lot of strength in coping with the loss of your (grand)father, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Wil and René Diederiks-Hoogenboom (Wil is the eldest daughter of aunt Annie and uncle Gerard Hoogenboom)
