Rainer Richard Palme

Peacefully with his wife and friends by his side, Rainer Richard Palme passed away in his 83rd year on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at University Hospital.
Rainer was loved and cherished by his wife of 56 years, Erika. He was a devoted brother-in-law to Grete Schepat, Maria Pyschik, and Herbert (Tina) Mölm. Rainer and Erika made the journey to Canada from Germany on September 4, 1967 to begin a new adventure. Together they loved to travel. When he was not travelling, Rainer worked at Ford Canada for 31 years. In his retirement, he joined the Thames Valley Walking Club.
Rainer simply loved life and lived it to its fullest.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many doctors and nurses at University Hospital for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada is greatly appreciated.

Erika I'm so sorry for your loss. Rainer was a good man. I still have many fond memories of spending time, as a child, at your cottage with him, you and my parents. Our thoughts are with you. Mike, Helmut, Ron
Erika, I’m sorry for your loss. While walking the trails, Rainer often spoke of how wonderful you were at finding special deals for your travels. May those memories give you comfort going forward. Pat, TVTA member
