Harry Goossens

Harry Goossens passed away peacefully with loving family by his side on Friday, September 5, 2025, his 95^th birthday. Born in Brouwhuis, Holland, he immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his good friend Tony, working his way across the country from East to West. He returned to “the old country” in 1955 to marry his awaiting bride Toos. They moved back together, and settled in London, Ontario where they started a family. Harry worked for the City of London until retirement in 1986. He was known for spending countless hours in the vegetable garden tending to the crops and watching the weather closely. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards, and go to the horse races. He also liked to take long walks by the river. When he could no longer walk it, he would ride his scooter along the bike path.

Predeceased by his wife Toos (2019) and son Joe (2023). Loving father of daughter, Maria Morrison (Gardiner), and son Harold (Irene). Much loved Opa to Sonya (Olivier), Anita (Matt), Tara (Travis), Gardiner, Amanda (Connor), Harry (Kelsey). Adored Great-Opa to Keegan, Paige, Logan, Austin, Isabelle, Lainey, Wren, and Hendrik. Survived by his brother Gerard. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Piet, Sister Arnoldini, Tonni, Martinus, Jo and Nelli.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the grave site in St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Harry can be made to a charity of your choice.
