Kenneth “Ken” Howard Mills, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in his hometown of London, Ontario. Born in London in 1939, Ken proudly served as a Constable with the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years, dedicating much of his career to the Lambton County (Forest) and Thunder Bay detachments.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Howard & Marion Mills, and his sister, Marilyn McKay. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Barbara Catherine Mills (née Frank), and his children Peter (Sharen Spahar), David (Karen), and Jon (Isabelle). He was a proud Poppa to his wonderful grandchildren: Jessica, Samantha, Jonah, Shelby, Conor, Brianna, and Ethan, and a great-grandpa to two adoring great-grandchildren.
Ken was a lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays, cheering on his teams with unwavering loyalty through every season. His warmth, humour, and deep sense of service touched the lives of many throughout his community and career.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow. Family, friends, and neighbours are invited to gather at his home for a celebration of his life on Saturday, October 11, 2025 between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Humane Society, honouring Ken’s love of animals. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

A donation has been made to London Humane Society. Message from the donator: It was always such a pleasure to speak with Ken as we often stopped him for a chat while he took his stroll around the block in our neighborhood. He always had kind words for Joshua my son, my wife Michelle and our dog Charlie. We knew of his love for animals and how well his wife Barbara looked after him and their dogs over the years. Barb and family, For over 20 years, we have had the extreme privilege to have lived beside you and Ken as neighbours. From the moment we met, Ken made us feel like family. Ken always knew what was happening in the neighbourhood and kept an eye on things. His stories always kept us entertained and we loved our impromptu chats with him. Our girls think fondly of him, and smile when they think of their childhood and teenage years because Ken always knew their "comings and goings". We will miss that the most. Ken was our "eyes and ears" and our little community lost an important member when he left us.
