Ennio Marcoccia

October 18, 2025

Peacefully, on October 18, 2025, Ennio passed away in his 90th year with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Vincenza for 68 years. Loving father of Rita Young (Gregg MacRae), Josie (Remo) Assini, Nadia Marcoccia, and Angelo (Anna) Marcoccia. Adored grandfather of Scott (Val) Young and Julia (Philip) St. John, the late Stephanie Assini, Mark Assini (Andreia), Haley (Nando) D’Oria, and Ryan Marcoccia, and great-grandfather of Chelsea, Noah, Carter, Luca, Adrian and Nico. Will be missed by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rosa (late Pasquale) Mandarelli, Lena (Guido) Lomardi, Domenic (Patti) Colafrancheschi, and Robert (Elena) Colafrancheschi.

Predeceased by parents, Caterina and Angelo Marcoccia; siblings Luigia (Eugenio) Teragnoli, Anna (Gino) Faccenda and Arduino Marcoccia; parents-in-law Guisepina  and Enrico Colafranceschi; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maria and Rocco Colafrancheschi, Christina and Guido Colafrancheschi; son-in-law Ken Young. Ennio will be missed by the many nieces and nephews he adored.

At the tender age of eight, Ennio began his journey to becoming a master carpenter under the guidance of his father in a small, family-owned carpentry shop in Ceprano, Italy.  With hands of gold and an eye for perfection, Ennio turned his passion for craftsmanship into a remarkable 55-year career, transforming customers’ dreams into reality.

In search of new opportunities, Ennio and his beloved wife, Vincenza, crossed the Atlantic, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before settling in London, Ontario.  There, they built a vibrant family life, blending the rich traditions of their Italian heritage with Canadian culture. Ennio was immensely proud of his roots and loved sharing stories of his homeland with his grandchildren, always weaving in laughter and his signature sense of humor.

A true Italian at heart, Ennio savored pasta and wine with every meal.  In retirement, he embraced new passions: cooking, winemaking, and canning tomatoes for his cherished homemade sauce.  An avid Formula One Ferrari racing fan, he never missed a race day, cheering with enthusiasm that filled the room.

Ennio leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and joy, forever cherished by his family and all who knew him.

Ennio will be sadly missed by his wife, beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

The family would like to thank the LHSC Critical Care Trauma Unit nurses Tara and Alyssa, Dr. Senecal and all the nurses and Dr’s that assisted in his care.

Ennio was a great neighbour for 32 years. He was a good man who worked hard and was very proud of his family. He tried to teach me some of his carpentry skills but it always turned out better if Ennio did it. He was the brains and I was the muscle when we did home maintenance projects. I missed our driveway chats once we moved. Our sympathies to his wonderful wife and family.
