Jean Marguerite Cowan

June 24, 1934 - November 1, 2025

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Marguerite Cowan of London, Ontario, who died on November 1, 2025, while a patient at Victoria Hospital.

Jean was the wife and life partner of J. Robert (Bob) Cowan for over sixty-five years. In a loving household, they raised two wonderful sons, Robert Bradley Cowan (Marjorie) and Douglas Burr  Cowan (Michele), all of whom have been outstanding supporters of their parents.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, George Burr and Ethel May Burr (Marjoram) and her siblings Betty May Scott, Eileen Grant, Mary Calvert, George Burr, June Burr, and Doreen Burr. She is survived by her sister Kathaleen Gelech; many nieces and nephews, as well as her own husband Bob, her children Bradley and Douglas, her grandchildren Shawn (Stephanie) and Cayley and her great-grandchildren Rivers and Mira.

Jean was a wonderful mother to her children and she was able to combine proper messaging with reasoning and a fierce protective instinct. The entire family benefitted from her care. Jean was artistically gifted and produced many works of art.

Jean and Bob were partners and lovers in life. They both enjoyed their respective careers, but always sought and received support and encouragement from each other. They enjoyed golfing and skiing together, and with their family and friends.

A private family funeral will be held at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. Donations to honour Jean should be made to a charity chosen by the donor.

So very sorry to learn of Jean's passing. Bob was an associate many years ago and meeting Jean was a pleasure. Both were always considerate and kind. Please accept my sincere condolences at this sad time.
