Margaret Dorothy “Peggy” Jensen

December 11, 2025

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Jensen at Oak Crossing Long-Term Care on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Peggy passed away peacefully in her sleep just 3 weeks after her 87th birthday.  Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Gordon, and her son, John. Peggy will be deeply missed by her daughter Lori (Daniel) and her 3 granddaughters, Emma, Melissa and Madeline, who nicknamed Peggy ‘Red Grandma’, which Peggy absolutely loved! Peggy was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Patricia Todoroff and Jeanne D’arc McCombs, brother-in-law Michael Todoroff, and survived by brother-in-law Larry McCombs. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Dorothy Savard.

Peggy was born, raised and lived her 87 years in London, Ontario.  Peggy attended Althouse Teacher’s College and taught for over 30 years in the London District Catholic School Board. ‘Mrs. Jensen’ was constantly waved down by former students and parents with fond, funny memories whenever she was out in the community.  Peggy was a truly devoted teacher who went above and beyond to make learning an enjoyable and fun experience and to instill a sense of kindness and compassion.

Peggy and Gord loved to entertain family and friends and had an ease that made everyone feel welcome. The Jensen home was always a gathering place for friends of Peggy and Gord, Lori & John.  Peggy and Gord threw great neighborhood corn roasts and basement dance parties on Manitoulin Drive and bonfire gatherings, ski-doo adventures and lazy days at the cottage. But there was nothing Peggy loved more than to sit with you and have a catchup over a cup of coffee.

Life threw many challenges and tragedies at Peggy over the years, which she met with strength, tenacity, fierce determination and grace. Peggy was an incredible example to her daughter and granddaughters of a strong and resilient woman. Peggy will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, friendly nature, her generosity, compassion and kindness and of course her courage.

The family would like to sincerely thank the amazing staff at Oak Crossing LTC, who took wonderful care of Peggy and shared their beautiful hearts in the care they gave her.

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family are asking those wishing to donate in memory of Peggy to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.

It was a joy to meet and spend time with Peggy when she visited London U.K. to spend time with family. A kind hearted, generous and gentle lady . I remember with great fondness Peggy sending a lot of cards when Robert was terminally ill, made by the children in her class , with lovely individual messages . It gave us so much joy and showed what a kind thoughtful soul Peggy was. Dance with the Angels , lovely lady ❤️ Condolences to Lori, Dan and the girls Don, Benedict and Ronnie 💐
