It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Gordon Lindsay Dickie of London ON, announces his passing on December 22nd, 2025, in his 81st year.
He is survived by Irene, his beloved wife of 34 years and by his sons Simon Dickie (Liz Burnip), Matthew Dickie (Christa); daughters, Sarah Jajal (Tuhin), Laura Janzen (Peter Kumpula); four grandchildren Oliver, Graham, Aliyah and Ella; two brothers Alan Dickie, Ian Dickie both of Scotland and sister-in-law Miriam Grant of Nova Scotia.
Gordon immigrated from Scotland to Canada in 1971 where he became a member of the University of Western Ontario’s Family Medicine Program until his retirement in 2006.
When Gordon wasn’t practicing medicine, he could be found on the links at Sunningdale golf course, woodworking in his workshop or reading one of his treasured books.
A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Home, 709 Wonderland Rd North London, Sunday January 25th at 2pm with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Reception to follow at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club, 465 Sunningdale Rd West London.
Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in Glen Bard Cemetery, Marshy Hope, Nova Scotia.

Dear Irene my sincere condolences on the loss of Gordon We became good friends when I worked on his team during my graduate studies 1985-1986. I can never forget his kindness when he included me in many social events including Robbie Burns day and his Ode to the Haggis !You both also took the time to visit us and the memories of that weekend and the many joyful moments will linger on. May he rest in eternal peace
Dear Irene and family, Leslie and I are so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. Gordon was one of our key family medicine teachers at Saint Joseph's Family Medical Centre when we were residents from 1976 to 1979. Gordon continued to support us with helpful site visits to our rural family practice teaching site in Goderich, sometimes ending with a round of golf. Those were grand times spent together. Dear Irene, we a deeply saddened to learn of Gordon's death. We enjoyed his company at the Harvey Club and History of Medicine events so much. No matter what topic was presented, Gordon always asked the most insightful question during the discussion. We will miss him very much. Our commiserations to you and the family.
