Michelle Marie Glanville

January 29, 2026

Michelle Marie Glanville passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Michelle lived a full, vibrant life marked by curiosity, independence, and deep devotion to the people she loved.

Michelle grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, where she developed the strength, confidence, and determination that would define her throughout her life. A dedicated teacher for over 35 years, she believed fiercely in the power of education, critical thinking, and standing up for what mattered. Teaching was never just a career for her—it was a calling, and she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues through her passion and commitment.

She had a deep love of travel and adventure, journeying all over the world—from Sauble Beach to Kenya and everywhere in between. It was during her travels in Kenya that she proudly earned her self-proclaimed title as the Queen of the Zambee River, a reflection of her humour, confidence, and adventurous spirit. Each destination added to her stories, her perspective, and her appreciation for different cultures. Michelle was kind, strong, and independent, with a sharp interest in politics and a lifelong love of cooking and bringing people together around food.

Michelle met her husband, George Morton, in Windsor while he was attending law school and she was in teachers’ college. Together they built a life rooted in partnership, respect, and family. George predeceased her in 2015.

Above all else, Michelle loved her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life. She is survived by her beloved daughter Gillian and son-in-law Louis, and her cherished grandchildren Finley (5) and Jacob (3), whom she adored beyond measure. She is also survived by her sister Denise and brother-in-law Robin.

Michelle will be deeply missed by her extended family, including her nieces Cindy (husband Mike, children Dalton and Christian), Mandy (children Ethan and Makayla), and Sam (children Grayson and Molly), as well as many friends, colleagues, and former students whose lives she touched over the decades.

Michelle will be remembered for her strength, her sharp mind, her warmth, her love of conversation, and the way she made those around her feel supported and seen. Her stories, values, and fierce love for her family will live on in all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Oakland Cemetery to follow.

Gillian, Denise and families: Our deepest and sincerest condolences to you. I will always be grateful that God brought Michelle into my life all those years ago when I was a new teacher and starting out on my own. She was vibrant, smart, funny, honest, caring and always present to all those around her. She welcomed me and then my family into your family and we have been so blessed to spend time with all of you, enjoying wonderful visits, meals and time together. I will miss our long chats, her guidance, encouragement and support, laughter and smile but I know all of those things will continue to live on through Gillian, Finley, and Jacob. All our love xoxo
