Shirley V. Smith passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in her 90th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald, cherished mother of Stephen Smith and Bonnie Osgood (Nicholas), and treasured grandmother of James Osgood (Lindsay Lake) and great-grandmother to Ella, Owen, and Tenley. She was also the grandmother of Hayley Hope (Chris) and the great-grandmother of Kayla and Sophie. Shirley was predeceased by her son Wayne (2009).
She is survived by her sister Beatrice Madge and her brother Don Gibson (Dianne), as well as sisters-in-law Kathy Gibson and Nancy Gibson. She was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Grace Gibson (née Young); her siblings Phyllis Rivett, Allan Gibson, and Jim Gibson; her sister-in-law Eleanor Gibson; and her brothers-in-law George Madge and Norman Rivett.
A private memorial service will be held. Those wishing to donate in Shirley’s memory are invited to consider the McCormick Care Foundation.
