Joan Croden (née Lindsay)

March 6, 1929 - May 10, 2026

Finally, at peace… on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Frances Joan Croden (née Lindsay) left her earthly home. Born on March 6, 1929 in Toronto, she was raised there until the mid-1950’s when she and her family moved to London, Ontario. Survived by sons Doug (Judy) of London, ON., Paul (Laurie) of Abbotsford, B.C, and Tom of Milford Bay, ON. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nephew Dave Simpson (Mary) of Novar, ON. and niece Judy Simpson of Toronto, ON. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Pearl Lindsay, her sister Donna Simpson, her husband John (2010) and her son Peter (1979).

Despite her “big city” upbringing, Joan fondly cherished the ten years spent on their “gentleman’s farm” just outside Dutton, ON. before retiring back to London. Joan loved music, especially jazz, and for many years kept herself healthy through exercise and her “walking group,” who were also a big part of her social circle.

The family wants to thank the caring staff at Fox Hollow Retirement Home who provided her with the best of care in her last year.

Joan has been cremated as per her wishes. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in memory of Joan may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
