Nora Dever (née Cole)
August 17, 1939 - June 5, 2026
It is with unending love that we announce the unexpected loss of our dear mother, Nora Dever (née Cole) on Friday, June 5, 2026 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husbands, Donald Cole (died 1986), and Herman Dever (died 2016). Nora is survived by her daughters Cathy Norsworthy (Mark) and Colleen Henning (Mike), grandchildren Robert Norsworthy (Leanne), Amanda Norsworthy, Scott Henning and Craig Henning (Alexis), and great-grandchildren James and Ava Norsworthy.
Nora was born in Foxroost, Newfoundland on August 17, 1939, and the youngest of six children (all pre-deceased). She raised her family in Garson/Sudbury and worked as a cashier at A&P Groceries, where she met her second husband. Once retired, they were able to enjoy life cruising, travelling on bus trips, and dancing at the Caruso Club in Sudbury. After the death of her second husband, Nora moved to London to be closer to her daughters. She lived there for nine years.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her many friends and family.
There will be no service in London. Nora will be interred at the Garson Cemetery with her first husband, Donald Cole, at a later date at a private ceremony with the family.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Nora can be made to your preferred charity.
Dear Cathy & Colleen and families, Brian and I are so sorry for the loss of your dear Mom and Nana. Our hearts are filled with sadness. Nora was such a lovely lady, always so positive and welcoming. We loved our short visits with her. I am thankful that she relocated to be closer to you and was able to enjoy her life fully until the end. May warm memories fill your hearts and help you through difficult days. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Shari & Brian
