Sheila Mary Diana Henderson

July 23, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sheila Mary Diana Henderson on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, in her 86th year, surrounded by the love of her family.

Sheila was the cherished mother of Bob, Jeanette (James), and Kathy. She was a proud grandmother to Mackenzie (Henri), Jacob, Michelle (Robert), Emily, and Natalie, and a loving great-grandmother to Harbour, the beloved son of Michelle and Robert. Sheila will also be deeply missed by her lifelong best friend, Eileen, whose friendship brought her great joy over the years. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Lily Henderson, and by her brothers, Ken and Robert.

A true animal lover, Sheila had a special place in her heart for the families’ dogs. She shared countless happy moments with Kobiee, Rosie, and Finley, who brought her endless joy.

Sheila was an incredibly hardworking woman whose strengths and determination were evident throughout her life. She dedicated more than 30 years to caring for others as a nurse in London, Ontario, often working long hours while selflessly balancing the responsibilities of raising her three children. Through her unwavering love, resilience, and example, she raised three strong, independent children, all while finding joy in helping patients, families, and anyone in need.

Sheila found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a well-known sweet tooth, rarely turning down a favourite treat, and loved spending her afternoons watching figure skating, tennis, and anything related to the Royal Family. Although she always dreamed of travelling more, her family finds comfort in imagining that she has now begun her greatest journey – returning home to Ireland and being reunited with those who went before her.

Sheila’s strength, resilience, and loving spirit remained with her until the very end. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind will remain with us always.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of the 5th Floor Respiratory Unit at Victoria Hospital. Your kindness, professionalism, and gentle care provided Sheila with comfort and dignity during her final hours, and your support will never be forgotten.

In memory of Sheila, donations to the Alzheimer Society London & Middlesex would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Sheila’s life will be announced at a later date.
