Brent Leckie
August 14, 2026
In the arms of his wife and children and surrounded by love, Brent Leckie passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at LHSC at the age of 74. Beloved husband to his wife of 52 years, Janice (née Caine) Leckie. Cherished father of Lisa Leckie, Laura Kaufmann (George), Andrew Leckie (Stephanie) and Adam Leckie, all of London. Extremely proud, doting and fun Grandpa to Isabella Leckie and to Lucas, Curtis, Rhys and Charlotte Kaufmann. Dear brother of Cathy Pharo (Chris), Sandi Douglas (Mike), Joe Muxlow (late Cathy), Mark Muxlow (Nathalie), Darren Leckie (Mary) and Tracy Leckie. Brother-in-law to Doug Caine (Cheryl). “Uncle Brent” also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Brent was the son of the late Helen Muxlow (2004) and the late Norman Leckie (2007). He is now reunited with his brother Greg Leckie (2007), sister Laura Hensen (2014), Mike Muxlow (2022) and Kathy Craig (2022).
Brent never met a stranger. Wherever he went, he was always keen to meet people and learn about their lives. He was an elementary school teacher for many years in Wallaceburg and is warmly remembered by many former students as a favourite teacher. An involved member of his community, Brent kept very busy coaching youth sports, joining choirs and performing in community theatre, with a particular love for musicals. Over the years, he was also a Scout Master and Optimist Club member, and helped run Sunday School at St. James Anglican Church in Wallaceburg. Later in life, Brent embraced the role of Grandpa with great enthusiasm and was happy to be present for moments big and small. His many stories will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at
1:00 p.m. The family sends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Glendale Crossing and LHSC for their care of Brent. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by Brent’s family.

So sorry for your loss, I remember Brent in high school I was very shy, but Brent always took time to talk with me. I too was involved with Sunday School at St James Anglican Church it always seemed that we continued to see each. I grew up in London, then moved to Wallaceburg and so did Brent. I will always remember his smile just a wonderful caring person he will be missed.
Sending love and deepest condolences Janice and Family. I’ll always remember when Brent played his guitar and sang to us as kids, and bragged to anyone he encountered about changing my diapers when I was young. So sad to lose such a loving and caring guy. Love to all of you! Connie and Family.
We have fond memories of Brent who participated in our gospel group. Brent was excellent at harmony. Also we have fun memories of Brent and Janice when they came to some of our house parties, including our Hawaiian theme party. Janice and family - May you feel comforted by the love surrounding you from family and friends and may God bless.
