Margaret “Arlene” Grant
July 27, 1939 - August 31, 2026
It is with deep sadness, but hearts full of gratitude for a life rich in love and family, that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret “Arlene” Grant in her 88th year on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on July 27, 1939, Arlene was the cornerstone of her family. Alongside her beloved husband of 54 years, the late Dave Grant (2012), she co-founded D. Grant Construction Limited (D. Grant and Sons Limited) of London in 1982. Together, they raised their family in Lambeth, where Arlene was the ultimate hockey mom – always in the stands supporting her boys and the community. In later years, Arlene and Dave enjoyed a peaceful retirement along the lakefront in Port Franks before she eventually settled into the welcoming community of Twin Elm Estates in Strathroy.
She will be deeply missed by her sons: Michael Grant (Sherri Herriman) of London, Kevin Grant (Paula) of Wiarton, and Chris Grant (Sherri) of Edmonton.
Arlene is survived by her loving brothers Ken Campbell (Jane) and Ross Campbell (Deborah), both of Toronto.
She was a devoted and loving Nanny to her grandchildren: Kayla Grant (Mike Battson) of Edmonton, Joshua Grant (Jeanelle) of Glencoe, Daniel Grant (Jenny Lee Graham) of St. Thomas, Paige Grant (Shane O’Brien) of Calgary, Dylan Grant (Kayla Beck) of Sioux Lookout, Kelly Routkevitch (Ilia) of Mount Brydges, Sidney Scott (Michael) of Edmonton, and Taylor Grant (Michael Nivens) of Edmonton.
Arlene was an exceptionally proud Great-Nanny to her 16 great-grandchildren, and a cherished friend to many throughout her life. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family will never be forgotten.
The family extends their sincerest thanks to Dr. Whynot and staff at Country Terrace Nursing Home in Komoka for their compassionate and loving care.
