Linda Freethy

Passed peacefully on Wednesday August 19, 2026 at Southbridge Long Term Care, Goderich at the age of 88.  Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Nelson of over sixty years in 2023. Devoted mother to her three children, Rob Freethy of Huntsville, ON., Jennifer (Perry Karsten) of Kincardine, ON., Randy (Liz) Freethy of Dallas, TX. Loving grandmother of Rachel Karsten (Nick Furler), Jonathan Karsten, and Zachary Freethy and to great grandson Greyson Furler.  Dear sister of Dorrel Phinnemore and Richard Moore (late).

Linda had a long career in administration with the school board in London, Ontario.  She was a long-time member of Glen Cairn Baptist Church in London where she served faithfully in the Pioneer Girls program, the Women’s Mission, and the library. After moving to Wasaga Beach in 1999 she attended Faith Missionary Church where she continued her love of books and reading by serving in the church library. Linda had a soft heart for animals, and in addition to owning numerous pets over the years, she volunteered for the Humane Society rescuing cats. Linda was a quiet soul, never wanting attention. She was a faithful follower of Christ and devoted her life to humbly loving and serving others. A private family graveside service was held at Ebenezer Cemetery, Clearview Township.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, beginning at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
