In Loving Memory of Rachel Ross

2007 – 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious daughter, Rachel Lynn Ross, of London, Ontario, who was tragically taken from us in a car accident on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Rachel has gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was a beautiful light in our lives, and her presence brought love and joy to all who knew her.

Rachel will be dearly missed by her loving parents, Angus and Sheila Ross; her siblings, Matthew (Faith) and Sarah; and her grandparents, Jack and Lina DeKwaadsteniet. She will also be lovingly remembered by her bonus grandparents, Pauline and the late Peter Hart.

Rachel leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish her memory and feel her absence deeply.

Rachel is now at peace in the loving presence of her Lord and Saviour, with her grandparents, Frank and Joy Ross, and her Uncle, Jack DeKwaadsteniet. Though our hearts are broken by her sudden passing, we take comfort in knowing she is home with Him.

Rachel was known for her exceptional baking skills, especially her cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed a variety of activities, including painting, baking, and cleaning. She took great pride in her work and loved bringing joy to the clients she cleaned for.

Rachel also held a special place in her heart for her cats and loved caring for them. She had a fondness for all things cheesy, especially cheese Doritos, and could often be found making macaroni and cheese of just about any variety late in the evening.

Rachel was a kind, sweet, quirky, and fun-loving woman who will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, and friend to many.

She will remain forever in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched. Her light will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Rachel to Ark Aid Mission in London.

Visitation will be at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.   A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.  Cremation to follow.

I had the privilege of teaching Rachel in high school. She was a bright light who worked hard and excelled with her hands on tasks. I can still remember her attention to detail sewing her plaid pajama pants. She had a kind soul who was taken from this world far too soon. She had a lasting impact on many who knew her. My deepest condolences to her parents, Matt, and Sarah.

Rachel came into our youth group quiet, reserved, skeptical but hopeful. We had the pleasure of seeing what God can do as He turned darkness into light and sorrow into joy. She had a smile that lit up a room and a quirkiness that made others feel accepted and safe. We looked forward to seeing her on Wednesday nights and had a unique opportunity to see her soften, become vulnerable and learn to let others in and trust. We loved her as family and she will be forever missed. Sheila, Angus and your family are in our prayers as you navigate this sudden loss. May the Lord bring strength, comfort and peace and the assurance that she is with our Lord and Savior. A donation will be made to the Ark Aid on behalf of her youth leaders Julie and I and our small group girls.

Rachel- I cannot believe this, my heart is broken. I was just talking with you no more than two weeks ago. I remember you running around the Wickerson house at such a young age, touring Central Park, and I got to watch you grow up into such a kind, funny person. I will miss you and I am devastated by this news.

I was heartbroken to hear the news of Rachel's passing. I had the privilege of being Rachel's grade 12 English teacher, and thought very highly of her. She had a presence about her that made her stand out from day one and she was always so kind and respectful. Rachel was very hard working and detail oriented, and I admired her dedication to each task she worked on. I can't imagine what you are all going through right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you naviagate this difficult time.
