Margot James (née Dalziel) 

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Margot James on October 27, 2026.

Born in Sunderland, England, in 1939, Margot immigrated to Canada, a country she proudly chose to call home. She settled on the south shore of Montreal, where she raised her three children and embraced all the beauty, opportunities, and adventures her adopted country had to offer.

An expert canoeist, lifeguard, and Girl Guide leader, she had a deep love of the outdoors and was a devoted animal advocate. She was proud of her career as a pension and benefits counsellor at the University of Western Ontario.

Margot was a loving mother to Karen Southworth (Bill), Gail Southworth, and Andrew Southworth (Vanda), and a proud grandmother to Adam and Jack.

Margot will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
