At Henley Place, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, with family by his side, Mr. J. Al Johnston of London in his 82nd year. Much loved spouse of 43 years to Carol Williams. Loving father of Stephen (Terry) Johnston, Sherry (Alan) Phillips, Shaun (Stacie) Johnston, Judy (Brad) Wilson, Kim (Ted) Derrah-Stokes and Jenny (Mike) Logan. Proud grandfather of Bradley, Tiffany, Mandy, Missy, Beth, Alysia, Kristy, Jesse, Nikki, Chelsea, Michael and Brandon, and several great-grandchildren. Al will also be missed by his canine pals Abby and Maxi. Predeceased by his son, Scott and by his brother, Bill. Al’s family wish to express their gratitude to the staff and residents of Gibbons Park at Henley Place in London.

The funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Al are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex.

Please note: as per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance numbers will be restricted. Please be aware that COVID-19 protocols are in place which may preclude some from being able to attend and masks are mandatory at both indoor and outdoor services.

Al I just want to Thank you for everything you have helped me with when I needed it. Thankyou for being the best grampi. You were such a prankster and made us laugh alot. We made it through this past awful year and I told you I'm here till the end. I know you were taken by angels so I'm at peace. Will miss you forever. Until we meet again❤

Heartfelt Condolences to the Johnston family and Carol Williams. Remember Al as an easy going good natured man that was very hospitable and easy to talk to. Al treated the kids to a fantastic fireworks display a number of years ago at my house overlooking the City, and we all had a great time.
