Peacefully at home on Monday, August 17, 2020, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Sheila (2018). Loving father of Michele (David) Gettman and Anthony (Bonnie). Cherished grandfather of Gabriel, Sydney, Marnie and Sinjon. Predeceased by his brother Harry and sister Mavis. The family would like to thank the palliative care team for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. GEORGE ROMAN CATHOLIC PARISH, 1164 Commissioners Road West, London, on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required to attend the Mass.

Following the service, a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Albert’s life will be held at Quai du Vin Estate Winery, 45811 Fruit Ridge Line, St. Thomas. Carol Ann and I extend our sincere condolences to Albert's family. Albert was a loyal member of St. George Knights of Columbus .. He was well known for his expertise in the parish kitchen .. organizing and cooking for our many Sunday Breakfasts, dinners and not only for the K of C but many other Parish groups .. He came out to our Timmy's Coffee when held at Timmy's with his Brother Knights, and more recently every Tuesday under the trees in Springbank Park ... with the help of some of the Brothers. He enjoyed the commradrie, hearing the latest news along with some good laughs. Albert will truly be missed by his Brother Knights and their wives. Our prayers are with you All!
For almost 25 years, Albert was a member of the St. George Parish Knights of Columbus and an active participant in our many Council programs aimed at helping others less fortunate than ourselves. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Diane and I pass along our prayers and condolences to his family.
Kathy and I wish to extend our condolences to Albert's family and friends. I met Albert in the Saint George Parish Church kitchen where he taught me how to cook the monthly Parish breakfasts. Over the years we worked on many events and Albert displayed an energy well beyond most of the younger volunteers. Earlier this year I would bring Albert communion prior to the pandemic and we would sit and talk. His English accent was similar to my own father's and listening to Albert always brought me peace. God bless.
