In his 88th year, comforted by his children at his side, passed away at his McGarrell Place residence in London on Saturday January 13, 2018. Son of Emil and Margaret Olson. Beloved husband of the late W. Bernice Olson (Dilling). Devoted brother of sisters Leila Walter (Jack), Irene Gillespie (Bob), and Connie Laycock (Ross Hill) and families. Loving father of Elizabeth Filan (Brian) and David Olson (Wendy). Proud grandpa of Nathan and Paul Filan, and Connor Olson. Retired professor, P.Eng. U.W.O., Allan will be sadly missed by all. A memorial reception will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 p.m., with words of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his name. My condolences are extended to the family of Allan Olson from a former student who benefited greatly from allan's patient guidance that launched my journey to complete an engineering degree.
While we didn't know your dad personally Dave we do know YOU and we are sure that your dad must have been very proud of you. We know that many of your fine qualities as a husband and parent must have been partly inherited from him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Dave, please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of your father. As you know, I thoroughly enjoyed your father's classes at Western Engineering and the many after hours discussions we shared. He was a Great teacher, kind, caring, dedicated and proud of his students! I also know that he was a kind, caring, dedicated and proud father and grandfather! Wendy and Connor, we are so very sorry for your loss. Rest assured you are in our thoughts and prayers.
