Andries ‘Andy’ deHoog

At the age of 92, of London, Ontario, passed away on Thursday, October 8th, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born in Reeuwijk, the Netherlands in 1928. After immigrating to Canada in 1952, he established himself as a master framer until he became the superintendent for Eadie & Willcock Homes, building a large portion of homes in the Byron area. His reputation of being honest, fair and ensuring a high-quality standard was well-known. He truly enjoyed his profession and the people he worked with. Andries married Lily, the love of his life, and shared 67 years of marriage. Loving father of Lily Farrow and partner Mark, Ingrid Cook and the late Glenn Cook, and Peter deHoog and partner Cheryl. Proud Opa of Christian, Colin (Kathryn), Tyler, Andrew, Derek (Amanda) and Joshua. Dear Great-Opa of Blake, Weston and Carter, as well as two babies on the way. He is survived by siblings, John deHoog, Rose Vanderkruk (Keith) and many nieces and nephews both in Canada and the Netherlands. Cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private graveside service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Dear Lily and Family, I'm so sorry to read of Andy's passing. I always enjoyed visiting with Andy; he had such a wonderful sense of humour and quick wit. I will always remember his patience in teaching me Dutch - one new word each week was all I could handle! May your wonderful memories bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
