Anna Christine McDonnell

April 30, 1942 - March 17, 2023

Anna Christine McDonnell passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023 at University Hospital, London Ontario after a brief illness.  She leaves behind to mourn, her husband, Brian, and children Christopher (Verle), Rebecca (Leroy) and Joshua (Kelly).  Predeceased by her son, Adam; her parents, Madeline & Edward Coughlin; her sister, Mary; and her brother, Michael.  Beloved grandmother to Caine, Jarrod, Reese (Katelynn) and Cara (Jake).  Great-grandmother to Zack.  Aunt to Sandra. The matriarch of her family, Anna was outspoken, controversial, generous and loving.  After modelling professionally, Anna became a homemaker.  Passionate about travelling, she cruised around the world with her husband and enjoyed meeting many new friends. Always an animal lover, Anna is predeceased by many loyal canine companions, most recently Ivy her cherished French Bulldog.  She leaves behind Max, her faithful Cocker Spaniel.  Her hobbies included stage acting, and she performed at the age of 15 at The Grand Theater in London.  She also performed as an adult in productions at The Palace Theater (London), as well as theatres in Port Stanley, St. Thomas, Ingersoll, Aylmer and Woodstock.  A terrific cook and baker, her family dinners and dinner parties will be missed by all who were lucky to experience them.  Anna’s family wishes to thank the physicians and nurses of Floor 7 at University Hospital for their compassionate care.  We also wish to thank the many friends and the neighbours at Oriole Park who have taken such great care of Brian during this hard time.  Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.  Private family interment of ashes to be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Anna are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Program.

“May the road rise to meet you; May the wind be always at your back; May the sunshine warm upon your face; May the rains fall softly upon your fields.”
