Anne Maria Cribben
February 18, 2026
Anne Maria Cribben passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her home in London Ontario, surrounded by her loving friends.
She will be greatly missed by her partner, her family and the many, many friends who treasured her company, admired her indomitable spirit and were privileged to have a place in her generous heart.
Annie was born in Ireland, but spent most of her adult life in Canada. She divided her time between London, Ontario where she worked as a nurse at the London Health Sciences Center, and Goderich, Ontario where she lived with her partner, Dr. Michael Watts. Annie and Michael shared a passion for sports, travel, adventure and a great love of nature. The beautiful shores of Lake Huron were especially dear to them.
Annie cared deeply for all the people in her life and even people she did not know personally. In between her demanding work and social commitments, she gave freely of her time to volunteer organizations, too many to list. The world was made richer by her presence in it.
Annie is survived by her life long partner Michael Watts of Goderich, Ontario; her niece Nicola Moore nee Cribben (Dave) and their three children James, Karla and Harry Moore; her niece Sonya Harnett nee Cribben (Alfie) and their two children Maya and Lucas Harnett; sister-in-law Valerie Cribben, friend Martine and cousin Noel Cribben, all residing in Ireland.
Though saddened by her passing, we will turn our thoughts to celebrating her life, her many accomplishments, and all that she taught us of living, the world and of ourselves.

My deepest sympathies to Anne’s family and friends. An amazing nurse and terrific person that brightened every room. My sincere condolences
My condolences to Anne’s partner, family and friends. This is sad news. The world has lost a most indomitable spirit who’s joie de vivre lit up a room. Anne was an exceptional nursing colleague with whom I worked for many years. She will be missed by many and remembered fondly.
Anne was a nursing mentor ,colleague and good friend. She lived a life of adventure, intellectual conversations and good wine. A kind and caring soul who lived with curiosity and generosity. She leaves us all changed from knowing her.
I am saddened to hear of Annies death. I worked with Annie in the transplant unit at University Hospital London for many years, she was a great nurse and colleague. We had a friendship for many years. I am in Portugal and we talked a month ago, and she was not well but still always positive. I know she was often in a lot of pain, so pleased she is now pain free and at peace.
Michael and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Anne at LHSC transplant unit and she was an amazing nurse, friend and colleague. I have many memories of Anne that make me smile. She will never be forgotten.

I have so many good memories of Annie. We climbed the Chilkoot pass together and had an amazing time. It was a trip filled with memories. We skied at many different resorts with Annie and Mike and it too was fun and memorable. And not to forget the kayak trip we made to the 30,000 islands. I can always hear Annie’s voice and laugh. She was kind, smart, fun adventurous and compassionate. She will be missed and not forgotten Thinking of you Mike and family
I’ve known Annie just over a year however in that short time she has made me laugh and glad to have come to know her. She is so generous and caring. She arranged that I look in on Mickey while Michael was healing in London, Michael’s barn cat he saved. Lots of texts and lots of heart filled emojis exchanged. My few interactions with her will be cherished.
Annie was a dear friend and frequent lunch partner for the last five years. We became close friends and i will miss her dearly.
I am very sad to hear of Anne’s passing. She was an amazing person and I have so many fond memories of Anne. Playing tennis with her was always fun at The GoodLife Tennis Club. My husband and I loved to spend an afternoon with Anne sharing a bottle of wine and hearing about all her adventures. She was an inspiration and a good friend. My condolences to Michael and family. ❤️ Judi Goso
We have so many delightful memories of times together - skiing, windsurfing, BBQs - and more. Knowing her definitely enriched our lives - and o many others.
I only got to know Annie during the last years of her life and in that short time it was evident to me what a warm and gracious life my friend led. Our time was basically consumed with conversations about the arts: film, theatre (she preferred Samuel Becket, I was a Sean O'Casey fan) and especially books. My last visit was St Valentine's day when we made plans to see a play at Stratford. We hugged and said our good byes. I will always remember our talks, her humour,, her often salty look at life and that warm hug.
