Dear Sherry and family, I was so saddened to hear of Tony's passing. When I worked in the OSSTF district office (2002-2006), he was always one of my favourite principals to work with because he was such a great supporter of his teachers and staff. Now that I am retired also, it was wonderful to reconnect with him at the "Chapter 11 ARM" meetings. My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time! Wendy

Sherry and Family: I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Tony was "One of a Kind" and someone that took great interest in his schools. I would stand in the hall at Saunders with him in the mornings and he would greet students and comment on their prior nights sporting activities and how well they did.. He knew everyone's name and made them feel like they mattered . I know he will missed by anyone that had the honour to meet and work or socialize with him.

Susan and I have many fond memories of our times with Tony and his family especially during neighbourhood Hallowe'en visits and for our yearly fireworks displays on the road in front of our homes on Balcarres Road. I also have many lasting memories of coaching high school football with him during his tenure at Oakridge Secondary School. He was admired and respected by his student athletes and fellow coaches for his knowledge of the sport and the integrity with which he dealt with all situations both on the field and off. We also recall accompanying he and Brent to the National Wrestling Championships in Newfoundland during the worst snow storm in that province in 20 years. These were great times which will stay in our memories forever.

~ Susan and Bill Perkins

My deepest condolences to the entire family. Mr. Jones was a remarkable principle during my years at Banting S.S. (2004-2008). He cared so much about the students success both in the classroom and within the larger school community, and supported us in all our endeavours. Mr. Jones always had a smile on his face, and I can still hear his laugh from down the hall. May your memories bring you comfort as you grieve this loss. Prayers and love.

Sherry & Family, Please accept my condolences. Working with Tony at Saunders was an honour and pleasure. His legacy lives on every time someone exclaims "It's a great day to be a Sabre". I have so many great memories of working with Tony but one that stands out is his love of his family. He proudly displayed photos taken consistently at the same location with his loved ones around him. I loved that idea and my family has borrowed this tradition with our group Thanksgiving photo. -Charlene

Dear Sherry and Family, For many years we have had the great pleasure of spending virtually every other Monday night playing both poker and euchre with Tony. He always came with a smile, a funny story or two and a positive outlook on life. We will miss hearing him call his favorite poker game "the good, the bad and the ugly", but most of all we will very much miss just having Tony in our lives. We are so happy and thankful to have known Tony Jones!

Dearest Sherry You and I have been friends for many years and you and Tony were very special in our lives. I taught with Tony and was lucky to have him at a VP at Lucas and he indeed was a person who believed in giving kids a chance to succeed and made school so much fun for both staff and students. I fondly remember all our retreats with the Breakfast Club at Hessenland where we shared so many special moments. The world will be a different place without Tony and we will all treasure the years of cherished memories we have had. He will continue to cheer for the Leafs from above and maybe they will go all the way this year in his honour. Love you girl.

Sherry and family, Tony was someone I always admired for his calm and positive outlook on life. While we never worked directly together, we were colleagues within the system and on the same professional organizations. He was Principal of Saunders S.S. when my older daughter graduated, and he made her day very special. From his stories, I could tell that he loved his family deeply and cherished every moment he shared with you and the children. My thoughts are with you at this time. MaryEllen

I was sorry to read of Tony's passing. He was such a valued colleague on Principals' Council. His quiet and incisive demeanour always commanded respect. He was always thinking of the welfare of the teachers who worked with him. More importantly, he deomonstrated at his core and abiding concern for his students. My condolences to the Jones family.
