Antone “Tony” Tischenko
September 15, 1963 - April 12, 2025
Born on September 15, 1963 in London, Tony was known for his deep love of the outdoors and his adventurous spirit. He had a lifelong passion for fishing and hunting, always finding peace and purpose in nature. Whether it was a quiet morning on the lake or sitting in the bush with his bow, he was truly at home under the open sky.
One of Tony’s greatest joys was his Corvette, in which he took great pride. It was more than just a car to him; it was a symbol of his freedom, his love for the road and his appreciation for the simple thrills in life.
Tony retired from 3M in 2022, after dedicating 36 years of service marked by loyalty, hard work and quiet excellence. But beyond his profession, he will be remembered most for his caring nature, his sense of humour, and the love he so freely gave to those around him.
He is survived by his son Eli Tischenko, daughter-in-law Ashley Tischenko, and grandson August Tischenko. He also leaves behind his sisters Anne Salmon, Lily Hopcroft, brother-in-law Grant Hopcroft, nieces Lara, Lisa, and Christina Hopcroft. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Stefan and Maria Tischenko, and brother-in-law Wayne Salmon.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at the same location, followed by a reception.
He will be missed more than words can express, but his memory will live on in every cast of a line, every walk through the woods, and every engine’s roar on a winding road.
Those wishing to donate in Tony’s name are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My condolences Eli and family, I was just talking to your Dad 2 weeks ago about his thoughts on what he was going to do with the Corvette, he was going to come in and speak with me the following week, so sorry , I will miss his enlightening conversations on everything from the stock market, to the war, to his love of cars and to life in general, Will be sadly missed, Will
Tony was a good friend and a great neighbour. He would often text us after a big snow storm saying not to worry he will clear our driveway. He loved the sound of birds and planted many trees to bring them. He brought much joy to our life and we were always happy to see him. We caught up often, but now not often enough. We miss him every day. He was awesome. Our best to your family.
Eli, My deepest, heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Words are never enough to express how we feel. Thinking of you during this time.
Condolences to the family.
Expressing our condolences to the family at this time
Stunned and shocked to hear about Tony’s passing. Just was out having a few drinks with him 3 weeks ago so it makes it harder to understand . Condolence's Eli to you and your family. Sorry I can’t attend the funeral as I’m out of town this weekend but my thoughts and prayers are with you. RIP TONY. You were one of the good ones and retiree get togethers won’t be the same. I’m having a shot of tequila now with your name on it. You will be missed.
Dear Anne, Lily,Grant and family, Our deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of Tony. God came to call for him much sooner than you thought and although his stay on earth seemed brief, may your lovely memories bring solace for your grief.
We will miss those chats that neighbours have when they see you walking by, bringing in your recycling bins, or just getting home and out of your car. We'd go from health, our yards, weather, grass tips, cars, to the election, like neighbours do. Our last conversation we had was about tires for his Corvette, and his frustration with the roads destroying his tires. His expression over this was priceless, with his almost "shyish" grin, and little chuckle. This is how we will always remember him, and will forever remember those little chats and will think of him often as we see his house from our front window. Our deepest condolences to you all.

I am stunned to hear of your father's and brother's passing. I worked with Tony as his Qc and supervisor at 3M for many years. Always always a smile on his face and such a great worker. Know that his life touched many people from his smile, jokes and love of life. Hugs to all
Our deepest condolences to Eli and the entire family, our thoughts are with you in this very difficult time.
Rest easy, old friend. You lived a good life and touched many hearts. You are missed by many today, you will be missed tomorrow, and for all the tomorrows after. Peace. “Now something so sad has hold of us that the breath leaves and we can't even cry.” - Charles Bukowski
I was so surprised to hear of your brothers and father’s passing. I worked with Tony for years at 3M and he was such a special kind helpful person to work with. Words cannot express my sorrow. Condolences to his family.
The news is heartbreaking as Tony had so much more life to live! I had the honour of being Tony's co-worker at 3M. Tony had a heart of gold and took so much pride in what he did but most of all ensuring all his employees and friends were always taken care of.
God Bless our dear friend. We have known each other since we were kids. Lots of great memories. You will never be forgotten.
