Augustine ‘Gus’ Mike Peesker

Peacefully passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the age of 83. Son of the late Mike and Mary Peesker and devoted husband of 59 years to Evelyn Peesker (née Gall). Loving father of Mikel, Mark (Julie) and Gary (Christine). Proud grandfather of Amanda, Breanna, Caitlyn, Alexandra, Nikolas, Gavin and Nigel. Dear brother of Merv Peesker, Clarice Santa and Irene Peesker.
Born and raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, Gus earned a B. Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in 1961 and began his career as a Sales Rep in the agricultural chemical industry. Gus progressed through the years to a Senior Marketing Management role with one of Canada’s largest international fertilizer manufacturers. After retiring from the fertilizer business he took the role of General Manager of a grower/wholesale landscape nursery for 20 years. He served in several leadership roles in Canadian agriculture including Director and President of the Fertilizers Institute of Ontario, Director of the Canadian Fertilizers Institute, and Director of the North American Potash and Phosphate Institute.
Gus had many passions including landscaping, gardening, curling, racquetball and bowling. Most of all he enjoyed playing golf, travelling with Evelyn and get-togethers with family at home. He also privately supported many charities and international humanitarian causes.
Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Registration will be required to attend the visitation. The family welcomes those who are unable to attend, to view the visitation via livestream.

Gus will be remembered fondly. I recall him always smiling and taking a moment to visit with everyone during family get togethers at his parents house, even his little cousins. Our thoughts and prayers go to Evelyn and the boys and their families. Hold the great memories close, they bring tremendous comfort.

I am Don Hatch's daughter, and Don and Gus worked together for many years. My dad died last year (age 90!) and I know he would want me to reach out to the Peesker family to send condolences...
I have find memories of the 'Mr Peesker' from my adolescent years. I remember a giant of a man who always had a warm smile and a nod for me whenever I was over. My sincerest condolences to the whole family on his passing.
My sincerest sympathies to you Evelyn and your family. My memories of "Gus" go back to our first days living in London and C-I-L at 201 Queens Ave. I always enjoyed working (and curling) with him and the gang.
My sincere sympathies to Auntie Evelyn and the cousins Mikel, Mark, and Gary and families. I have countless found memories of Uncle Gus. He touched many people in a positive ways over the course of his life. An uncle I always looked up to and enjoyed spending time with. He was one of the good ones on this earth and I will remember him in that light. Comfort yourself with this and use his memories as the positive energy he would have wanted.
