Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto on July 10, 2025 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Dowell. Loving mother of Gregory (Joan) Dowell and Linda (Murray) Thesen. Adored sister of the late Janice Boyd. Proud grandmother of Ashley (Ryan), Andrea (Jasper), Brett (Amanda), and the late Tyler Thesen. Barbara adored her six great-grandchildren and cherished her family, which included her wonderful nieces, nephews, their families, her friends, and Chivonne, her devoted PSW.
Visitation will take place at the Westview Funeral Home in London, Ontario on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Our hearts go out to you all as we learned of Barb’s passing. Ninety-five years is an extraordinary journey. The Nelligan family is fortunate to have been part of it for over 70 of those years. We fondly remember her as a cherished family friend. Wishing you comfort & peace. With sincere condolences.

We were sad to hear of Barbara’s passing. She and Jack and Linda and Greg were all such a huge part of our lives. We were neighbours, friends and fellow members of Chinguacousy Country Club. My sisters and I attended school with Greg and Linda. Such great memories of all of the Dowell family. May Barbara Rest in Peace while she is reunited with Jack.
