Peacefully at University Hospital on Friday, September 25, 2015, in her 92nd year. Dear friend of the late Noel Peters (2008). Beloved daughter of the late Marge and Percy Allen. Dear sister of the late Bill and Jean Allen, and the late Joyce Allen. Great-aunt of Pam, Chris, Vicki and Craig; great-great-aunt of Ashley, Jillian, Joseph, Emily, Devon, Clayton and Casey; and great-great-great-aunt of Nathan. Predeceased by her nephews Tom and Glen. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Barbara’s urn along with those of her dear friend Noel and her loved sister Joyce, will all be interred at St. John’s Cemetery, Arva. Charitable donations to the McCormick Home or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

So sorry to read of Barbs passing. She and my mom were close friends from the days at London Life. I remember going to her cottage at Grand Bend when I was small. Our family shared the occasional Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners over the years and enjoyed her famous turnips and carrot cake.
