Peacefully at Chelsey Park LTC Home, on Sunday, March 1, 2020, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Diane Mackie. Cherished father of Justin; stepfather of the late Kim Harris; and “Sorta Grandpa” of Adam Harris. He will be missed by his sister, Christina (Peter) Morris; brother, Tim O’Brien; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Reta (1990). Barry grew up on a farm in the outskirts of London. He graduated from Ridgetown Agriculture College and was proud of being a farmer. Barry loved to travel and was an avid hockey and baseball fan; always cheering for the Detroit Red Wings and Cleveland Indians. He was also a competitive goalie, a baseball catcher and a minor hockey coach. Barry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Donnybrook Branch 513 in Dorchester; past president of the Optimist Club of Arva & District; a Mocha Shriner; and past president of The Irish Benevolent Society of London. He enjoyed planning parties and events for charities supported by these clubs. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to the 9th floor staff at University Hospital, 3rd & 4th floor staff at Chelsey Park, and the South West LHIN. Please note that the Celebration of Barry’s Life which was to be held at the MOCHA SHRINE CENTRE, London, on Sunday, March 22,2020 has been cancelled. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Barry are asked to consider a charity of your choice.

Sorry to hear the sad news. Barry will be missed.
Barry was a fun loving friend with a warm welcoming smile and always had a great story to share with you. With the total support of his devoted wife Diane he put up a good fight. Sincere sympathy and love to Diane and family.
Barry was a good friend with a kind heart who loved people. His passing is a loss to all who knew him. We will miss him.
Barry was a great man, had the pleasure of going to Port Huron with him, to see were he played hockey, and seeing his Hockey Picture hanging in the Brass Rail, watering hole, that they visited in there playing Days. R.I.P
Diane and family - our hearts go out to you with sincere sympathies. Barry's presence will be missed greatly. We will always remember lunch at Mocha Shriners and the laughter we shared. May loving memories help you through this difficult time.

A beautiful heart, who lived to give. I always felt a little happier, safe and connected when around Barry. I believe he accomplished all, as he grew into a loving prescence. I'm grateful for the lovely moments we shared. I grieve for Diane and other family and friends but my prayers are of gratitude as I remember Barry's disarming smile.
