Bernard William “Bill” Palmquist
July 27, 1934 - June 4, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bernard William “Bill” Palmquist on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the age of 91, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 27, 1934 in Montréal, Quebec to parents Bernard and Elizabeth Palmquist. Bill is survived by son, Bernie Palmquist; daughter, Rosemary Palmquist; his stepchildren, Carol, Wendy, Jennifer and Michael; sisters Judy Sauve (Mike) and Dorothy Hannah; brother Don Palmquist (Marlene); and his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Courtney, David, Bernie Jr. and Madison Palmquist, great-grandchildren Oscar, Kaylee-Ann, Claire, as well as many extended family members.
Bill had a 32-year decorated career with the Canadian Armed Forces before his retirement. He was a proud member of the Byron Legion Branch 533 and will be greatly missed by his close friends and past colleagues.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family invites guests for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. Family welcomes all to the burial at Woodland Cemetery, London.

Our sincere condolences to Bill's children and grandchildren. Many thanks to Bernie for his loving care of my brother and to Rosemary who brightened Bill's day with each visit. Regretfully we are not able to attend the ceremony to honour Bill but he is in our constant thoughts. Bill was a wonderful big brother and I shall miss our weekly conversations. Rest in peace, Big Brother. You were loved and will be missed very much.
