Beth Michelle McLeod (née Labadie)

November 4, 2026

On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, after a hard-fought battle that she faced with strength, determination, and grace, Beth Michelle McLeod (née Labadie) found peace and began her next journey.

Beth was predeceased by her beloved parents, Bud Reginald Labadie and Molly Rose Labadie (née Rainville), and her brother, David Luff.

Beth lived life with energy, passion, and a personality that could never be ignored. She was fun-loving, outspoken, and never shy about sharing her thoughts, especially with the television and on the road. Whether she was coaching contestants, questioning a referee’s call, or letting a character know exactly what she thought of their poor decision-making, her running commentary was often as entertaining as the show itself.

For more than 21 years, Beth shared her life with her devoted partner, John Mailhiot, whose love, friendship, and companionship brought her comfort, laughter, and countless memories.

Beth leaves behind her daughter, Nikki Preston, and son-in-law, Mark Preston. Like any great mom, she spent years offering advice, sharing stories, lending support, and making sure her opinions were heard. Through life’s ups and downs, her love never wavered, and the memories, lessons, laughter, and conversations they shared will always be treasured.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Robert Luff, and his wife, Linda; her aunt, Betty Turner; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were brighter because of her friendship, humour, and generous spirit.

One of Beth’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, Alexandra (Greg), Carter (Kelly), and MacKenzie (Kenn). Whether she was creating adventures, sharing laughs, or teaching them the important skill of singing the alphabet backwards, she made every moment memorable. She was also the proud great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rick and John for their friendship, loyalty, and support, especially during Beth’s final chapter. Their kindness and companionship meant more than words can express. A memory that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her is her final road trip, with Bridge Over Troubled Water blasting through the speakers as she enjoyed one last ride on her own terms.

A heartfelt thank you is also extended to Dr. Maclean, whose compassion, kindness, and exceptional bedside manner brought comfort and dignity throughout Beth’s journey. His care and support will never be forgotten.

In true Beth fashion, there will be no funeral. She never cared much for formalities and would not want people sitting quietly mourning her. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in June 2027, where stories will be shared, music will be played, laughter will be encouraged, and her remarkable spirit will be remembered exactly as she would have wanted.

Beth leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, determination, unforgettable opinions, and memories that will be cherished for generations. Though she may be gone from sight, she will forever live on in family gatherings, songs that bring back memories, spirited debates with the television, and every story that begins with, “Remember when Beth…”

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
