Birgit Andersen

Passed away peacefully at McCormick Home on Friday, May 1, 2015, in her 94^th year. Beloved wife of the late Ove Andersen. Devoted and loving mother of Bjorn (Rozanne), Ulf (Linda), Rigmor Glen (Gary), Finn Andersen and the late Dan (Barb). Treasured grandmother of Erik, Stephen, Marc, Neil, Kyle and Karen, and great-grandmother of Oscar, Max, Bridget, Ryan and Ashley. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews in Denmark. Birgit was a highly valued teacher who delighted in her students’ accomplishments and had a passion for learning. She retired at age 65. She was a devout Anglican who became an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church, where she worshipped and served with her many Christian friends. The family would like to thank the staff at McCormick Home for their excellent care and the opportunities they provided for her to enjoy her latter years. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be celebrated at ST. GEORGE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 227 Wharncliffe Road North, London, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A private inurnment will take place in Denmark. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Birgit are asked to consider St. George’s Anglican Church or the McCormick Home Foundation.
