Brenda Joyce Lavigne (née Smith)

With her husband, Normand, and two daughters, Anne-Marie and Brenda, by her side, Brenda passed peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the age of 72. Most beloved wife of Norm for 47 years. Loving mother of Brenda Lavigne-Butcher (Jason) and Anne-Marie Lavigne-McCauley (Douglas). Very much adored Grandma of Ethan and Nicole Butcher, Haille, Lucas and Brennan McCauley. Dear sister of Mark Smith (Cathy), Tom Smith (Gayle) and Jennifer Langstaff (Ron). Admired sister-in-law of Gilles Lavigne (Yolande), Denis Lavigne (Ginette), Thérèse Benoit (Richard), Carmen Lavigne (Wally), Marcel Lavigne (Susan), and Yolande Trottier (Denis). Predeceased by brother-in-law Jeannot Lavigne (Denise). Brenda has touched the lives of so many people, and will be tremendously missed. The grandchildren will especially miss their Grandma’s riddles and jokes she left for their entertainment at special family dinners. A most sincere thanks to her family physician, Dr. Dana Moore, and her oncologist, Dr. Stephen Welsh, who took extraordinary care of her. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Brenda are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.

Norm and family, Guy and I were saddened to hear of Brenda's passing. We are sending our condolences to you and the family. Brenda always had such a lovely personality and I had some great talks with her over the years. We hope to see you again in the near future.
