Brian Dale Forcey
June 3, 2021
On Thursday, June 3, 2021, the Forcey family lost their hero and best friend. Brian Dale Forcey passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60. Brian leaves behind his loving wife and constant companion of 38 years, Sue. As well as his much adored children, Amanda and Jack. Cherished son of Earl and the late Leonie. Deeply missed by his siblings, Sandi (Chris), Butch (Kelly) and Andy (Sue); his aunt, Rema; and father-in-law, Henry; as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were such an important part of his life. Brian was a devoted father and husband who loved to mountain bike and ride his Harley, he took to the trails with joy in his heart. His passion for hockey filled his days, whether he was playing himself or watching his son with pride. He was a much loved and a respected business owner in the cycling industry for the last 30 years and was dubbed “The General” by his biking friends. Those who knew Brian would tell you he was an extremely kind gentleman with a generous heart and a great sense of humour. He will be sorely missed by all of the people with whom he served, with those whom he rode, those he helped along the way and profoundly by his heartbroken family and friends. Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. You will always be in our hearts Brian; we will love you forever.

I just wanted to pass along my condolences to the entire family - Sue, Amanda and Jack. I, too, remember Brian as being full of positive energy, whether he was running the bike shop and talking about trail biking, taking funny pictures of his dog, or attending a school function to cheer on Amanda and Jack. He kept us all smiling! - Jack do you remember the day when you smuggled your mom's iphone out of the house in JK and brought it to school? I had to call your dad to see whose phone it was as no one would admit it was theirs! Your dad just laughed and said "Well, he did it again! I'll phone Sue". Kept me smiling for the whole day. My heart goes out to you all at this difficult time. May your memories of special times together help you through this. Karen B
Dear Sue, Amanda, Jack & Family, I am so sorry to hear this. I remember Brian very fondly from when I used to come over to your house as a kid. I remember him being so full of life, and such a kind soul, who cherished his family. Of course, my memories of your family are largely through the lens of a child, but what I mean to say is - even in old memories, Brian was a really neat spirit, and his spirit was recognizable from miles away. I can't imagine the weight of this loss on your family. You are all wonderful people, and a wonderful family.
Oh My Goodness Sue, I just heard. No words can express my sorrow to you and your family . Brian was the nicest of men . Always wanting to help . warm to talk to . So so sorry for your loss
Susan. I am so saddened and shocked to learn of your loss. Walking into Brian's shop would always bring a smile to my face as his positive spirit along with his warm welcome would pump energy into my tired tires. Brian was there to help get us into new bikes and get our old ones back into action. He was both an ambassador for the biking world and for an inclusive community. Brian will be dearly missed. I extend my thoughts and hopes for strength and the best possible path forward to you, Amanda and Jack. take care.
We were heartbroken to learn about Brian's sudden passing from our son, Drake, who was a coop student, then summer help for some years. We would hear wonderful stories of how Brian was the most relaxed, chill boss & about the fun atmosphere he set for the guys in the shop. In later years, our son would call and visit Brian whenever he was in town. He considered him a mentor and a friend. My husband and I, our friends too, always felt well treated/special when we visited the shop. Brian's caring and generous personality will be greatly missed by many. We will always be grateful for his fair and genuine treatment of our boy. Our deepest condolences on the loss of this special soul.
Sue our deepest condolences to you your family and your in laws and their family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time John and Corinne.
Susan and family. I am so sorry for the loss of this great man. He was the best. He really was.
Sue, Amanda and Jack, so very sorry to learn of the passing of your dear husband and father. May your wonderful memories bring you some comfort during the difficult days ahead. Lean on each other for strength. Thinking of you.
It is with deep sadness that we learned on Brian's passing. He was an inspirational individual. He always had a smile on his face, and had an absolute passion for his craft. He was a pleasure to know, and will be deeply missed. Our hearts and thoughts are with Sue and the whole family.
My deepest sympathy to all the family - my late husband Carey Pike was his first cousin and so sorry I did not get to meet him but know he was an amazing person. I wish that God will give all the family strength to cope with this sudden loss - peace and love from all of his family in Jamaica
Forcey family, My deepest sympathies on the loss of Brian. Brian was such a kind, genuine man that will be missed by so many. Watching kids playing hockey many years ago was always a fun hour with Brian. We are all better people for knowing Brian. RIP GENERAL
Dear Sue and Forcey family - It was shocking to learn of Brian's sudden passing, my deepest condolences to all of you. Memories of Brian are all so positive, from playing hockey together as teenagers in Nepean with his huge and often game winning slap shot, Brian meeting Sue - the love of his life and starting a family together, Brian taking the risk to leave the bank to go out on his own to start such a successful and meaningful business and of course all of the wonderful people that he attracted and empowered with his positivity and larger than life personality. I've been blessed to have had "the Force" as a friend on this journey, may he rest in peace
Sue, Amanda, & Jack, sending you deepest condolences on the passing of Brian. I hope that you all find strength in memories of good times and togetherness at this difficult time.
Sue, my heart goes out to you for this incredible and sudden loss.....you described Brian perfectly in your summary of his life....I have bought (and serviced) at least 10 bikes from Brian over the last 20 years, and he became part of my love of cycling, with this laugh, caring service, curiosity and responsiveness....visiting the shop (which I do frequently) felt like going to a Cheers bar without a keg...getting to know you over the last year has been a privilege....he will live on in so many of us....take care....Rick.
My deepest condolences to the Forcey family. I met Brian in the early '90s, and I was immediately taken in by his big smile and his big laugh. I became a customer of the shop, and Brian and I would often ride together. Since then, I always enjoyed stopping into the shop to say hello when I was in the neighbourhood. Brian was always so friendly, and he loved to help people. Whether it was someone buying a $5,000 high end bike or someone who could barely afford to get a flat tire fixed, Brian treated everyone the same - with a respect, dignity and a big friendly smile. I will miss Brian very much. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.

Forcey Family, As a long time customer, I would echo all the comments from the friends I have talked to over the last few days. Brian's passing has created a real sense of shock and loss as a close family friend. Brian's genuine caring, curiosity and tenacity (relentless desire to fix a bike problem) will always be remembered and appreciated. He treated me and my biking friends as family and we feel his loss the same. Brian, I hope you're riding a bike somewhere. My deepest condolences, Mike

To Sue, Amanda, Jack and the entire Forcey family. Brian is going to be missed by so many. So many great memories. I can still hear him laughing and picture him getting animated as he is telling a story. It's really tough to put everything into words. But, my life was so much better to have known and to have grown up with Andy and his big brother Brian. My thoughts and prayers are with the Forcey's. RIP Brian.
Sue, I only knew Brian as a customer but he was such a happy, easy going, friendly guy I considered him more of a friend, a good friend. I always looked forward to going in the store & dealing with him. He was always so helpful. Of course when you've known someone for 30 years it's such a shock when they suddenly die. I don't think I ever met you Sue but It have to tell you it was a privilage to know Brian. You were married to one fine guy. I'm so sorry - Mike -
My condolences to the Forcey Family… Sue,Amanda,Jack…. Saddened to hear this news I contacted Brian in an email a couple years ago thru the bike shop To try and hook up to reminisce and set up a Ride together on our Harleys.. We first met at AIC. American International College in Boston Massachusetts in 1980 We were both their on a Hockey Scholarship And both Canadian,me from Niagara Falls, along with Fitzpatrick and Swindall and Force from London. Had many a good time, and lots of laughs together We were 18,and a bit wild, lol We drank that shitty American Beer And we showed them some real Canadian contact hockey… Force was a Hellova Hockey, player, strong as a Horse, and easy to get along with We sometimes went to Boston Discos, lol And he danced his ass off Laughing and Roaring. We went to a few concerts and closed the local bars,Frat Parties, lol Always full of fun and energy With that big distinctive Laugh… He has touched the Hearts of many, early and later in life. Left a loving Family And many Freinds. I’m sorry we never got a chance to hook up,but we shared a Brotherly Canadian Bond I will never forget. RIP Force… Your buddy Max
