Brone Ablenas

Mrs. Brone (Paskeviciute) Ablenas passed away peacefully on May 6, 2013 in London. Mrs. Ablenas was born on June 3rd, 1920 in Lithuania. Her loving devoted husband Dr. Vytas Ablenas predeceased her on May 2nd, 2009. They were married on February 14th, 1950 in Windsor and celebrated 59 years of marriage. They have three sons, Richard of London, Fred and his wife Brenda of Beaconsfield, PQ, and Robert and his husband Kevin of Vancouver; and five grandsons Andrew of Calgary, Phillip of London, Christopher, Daniel and Brett of Beaconsfield. Brone will be fondly remembered by her friend Anita. Mrs. Ablenas received her nursing degree in Lithuania in 1940 and came to Canada in 1948. Mrs. Ablenas practiced nursing in Toronto and Windsor before settling in Kingsville in 1952. She assisted her husband Dr. Ablenas in his medical practice until 1994. After their retirement she and Dr. Ablenas moved to London. Mrs. Ablenas was a faithful member of St. John de Brebeuf Catholic Church in Kingsville and St. Michael’s in London. Many thanks for the support and care given by the staff at Marian Villa.  The funeral service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.  Cremation to follow with interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Donations in memory of Mrs. Ablenas may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph or CNIB.
