Bruce John Weber
1950 – 2026

Our dear Bruce passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place Long-Term Care Home in London, Ontario, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. He died at the age of 76 after many years living with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Bruce was Deb Weber’s loving husband for 55 years and the proud father of Jeff (Karrie), James (Rachel), Jeremy (Celeste), and Jessica (Octavian). He was the deeply cherished Papa of Natasha, Christopher, Michael, Noah, Julia, and Ben.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Doug Weber (Marg), Barb Poechman (Joe), Louise Brown (Craig), and brother-in-law Kel Fotheringham, as well as his sister-in-law Joan Vaughan (Brian), brothers-in-law Dennis Dosman, David Dosman (Linda), and Don Thompson. He was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Isabel Weber of Mildmay; his sister, Sharon; and his sister-in-law, Jan. Bruce held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, who delighted in time spent with their fun-loving uncle.

Bruce grew up in the small town of Mildmay, Ontario. Those roots fostered a great love of life’s simple pleasures: fishing, gardening, camping and strolls in the woods, preferably by a river! A craftsman by trade, he spent his life working in carpentry—not only building a career with his hands, but continuously offering his talents, time, and heart to help family and friends with their own projects. His legacy lives on, not only in the tangible pieces he crafted, but in the creative spirit and warmth he shared with others and passed down to his family.

Bruce enjoyed his time puttering in the gardens and forest, surrounded by trees, birds, and the people he loved most. He had a special connection with nature, often whistling to the birds as he walked through the woods—and they always sang back. He also cherished his camping and fishing trips and the shared camaraderie of enjoying the outdoors, whether reeling in a good catch or enjoying the fall leaves.

Bruce will be remembered for his generous spirit, giving countless hours as a volunteer with NorWest Optimists, 68th Scout Group, and the Knights of Columbus at Holy Family Parish.

For the past seven years, Bruce made his home at McGarrell Place Long-Term Care, where he and Deb quickly became an integral and vibrant part of the community. Together, they brought light, connection, and a sense of belonging to fellow residents and staff alike. It was truly their second home. We are grateful for the staff’s support and loving care, and for the deep friendships of fellow caregivers who walked this path beside us.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A second visitation will take place from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, on October 30, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
