Passed away peacefully at peopleCare Oakcrossing, on Sunday, September 22, 2019, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Ruth for 70 years. Loving father of Jim (Joan), the late Lynda (Vern) Albert, April (Mark) Ryan, and Alison Stewart. Cherished Grandpa of Scott (Yaejin), Andrew (Rachel), Carlee, Daniel (Julie-Ann), Quinton, and Madison. Proud Great-Grandpa of Mira Kim. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law, Richard (June) Pane and Ronald (Louise) Pane and sisters-in-law, Rosemary Munn (late Bob) and Rosalind (Bruce) Richardson. Bruce was a WWII veteran and business owner of Elliott Machine Shop and Fabricating in Strathroy. He served as a Strathroy town councillor for many years, a term as deputy mayor, and participated in Middlesex County Council. Bruce was a member of the Strathroy Jaycees. He enjoyed building and flying his model airplanes with his friends Willy, Don, Larry and Fred. Bruce and Ruth enjoyed their 40 years of retirement golfing with friends and family, travelling and living in Florida for the winter months. Bruce’s health declined in the past few years due to the effects of dementia.
