When Luiza and I were playing golf in Arizona last spring, we were paired with another couple who turned out to be from Southwestern Ontario. When I mentioned I had recently retired from CIBC, the gentlemen told me a story of how, in the early days of his business, when Bud was with Special Loans, he was in over his head and Bud had worked with him to save the company, establish proper accounting and management controls, etc. He said he would never have survived without Bud. Today, his company is a multi-million dollar enterprise, one of the largest in its field and highly profitable. Says a lot about Bud's character. (forwarded by Larry Davies)

More sad news. I knew Bud when he was manager of Owen Sound Branch. He was an outgoing and energetic person who represented the bank extremely well. Gone way too soon. (forwarded by Larry Davies)

Karen and family, I was saddened to hear of Bud's passing on the weekend. We were colelagues at CIBC. When he ran the OSW CART team, I was his counterpart in the Greater Toronto Area Group. We spoke often and fed off each other's experience in the specialized work we did. I depended on him a lot for his knowledge of the agricultural market when we inherited the occasional ag file in the GTA group. My condolences to you all. He will be missed by all of his CIBC colleagues.

Karen, Jennifer, Greg, Chris, Stephanie and Taylor: We are so devastated and saddened hearing about Bud's Passing. We will miss his wisdom and knowledge. We have all said how it won't be the same not seeing him on a regular basis walking Rio, conversations over the fence and our social times together. We have all shed some tears this morning and are in shock.... Karen, we are here for you whatever you need. Take care and God Bless all of you during this extremely difficult time. Love Niven, Joanne, Brendan, Alex and Winston

To Karen and Family. We extend our sympathy at this time of loss. Bud was a conscientious and loyal employee and his approach was to do the very best at whatever responsibilities he undertook. As a CIBC colleague, I know he 'made a difference' in many ways. May the memories sustain and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Milt & Arlene.

Saddened to receive this news. Bud and I worked together at CIBC in London in the late 1980's and continued to keep in touch after we went different ways in our careers. Bud was a hard worker and provided strong support to his colleagues and his clients. My sincere condolences to Karen and family.
