Carleen Marie (née Bain) MacIntosh

November 4, 2016

Surrounded by her loving family, Carleen passed away on Friday, November 4th, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Duncan, and their two cherished daughters Meghan and Valerie. Carleen will be sadly missed by her mother Sandy Reinhart of Welland, her father Keith Bain and step-mother Pauline of Port Colborne and her sister Jacqueline Stillman of Hamilton. She will also be greatly missed by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law. Carleen grew up in St. Catharines and Port Colborne and attended Notre Dame High School. With her love of music and her beautiful voice, she was an active member of the Notre Dame Band, St. John Bosco Choir and the Port Colborne Operatic Society. A graduate of Western University and Althouse Teachers College, Carleen was an enthusiastic teacher within the Thames Valley District School Board. She will be fondly remembered by many students and fellow teachers for the passion she had for teaching and her love of music. Her passing leaves a heavy heart with all who came into contact with her during her 25 years of teaching. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Bellamere Winery, 1260 Gainsborough Road, London, on Sunday, March 5th, 2017 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., with words of remembrance at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice (www.sjhospicelondon.com) or a charity of your choice.
