Carrie Elizabeth (née Jeneroux) Avery
May 14, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Carrie Elizabeth Avery, of Iona, on Thursday, May 14, 2020, in her 55th year. Beloved wife of Gheorghe Popa. Loving mother of Olivia and Kaitlyn Avery, and stepmother of Alex. Much loved daughter of John Jeneroux and Marilyn Jeneroux (Mike Masic). Sadly missed by her sister Leigh (Malque Simao); her brother Paul (Jill) Jeneroux; and their children Allison and Adam. Carrie had just completed chemo and surgery, and was well on her way to bravely kicking cancer’s butt. She faced it all with a great sense of humour and tremendous strength. Carrie and Gheorghe just moved into their dream home that she and Gheorghe built together. She was looking forward to putting the finishing touches on their home and to creating beautiful gardens, and she was not afraid of the work it would take to complete. Carrie was a devoted ICU nurse and an amazing office manager for Gheorghe’s electrical contracting company. She was taken suddenly and too soon from her family and dreams. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place, due to the current restrictions of COVID. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Carrie are asked to consider London Regional Cancer Program.

She faced life's challenges with so much strength and lots of humour. Look to her for strength and courage and hold on to the many beautiful memories you shared with her. I believe we have a beautiful angel in heaven's garden and no doubt she will make a few changes. Perhaps because she was an amazing nurse she may be in charge of taking care of this virus. To the entire family. I am sorry to learn of Carrie's tragic death and want to offer all of you my sincere condolences. Over the years I had many good chats with her and was also able to observe her excellent nursing skills. She was often first to offer to buddy with one of my student nurses for the day. Many students commented positively and hoped to be paired with her again .Over the years this happened at St. Joe's GAU, Parkwood and for a time on Ortho at UH. Carrie was well known for her sense of humour and her caring nature. She loved her family , and cherished her two girls with all of her heart. She will be missed by many , but keeping the good memories alive is what I'm sure she would want. I hope that in time you will find some happiness again in your cherished memories of Carrie. God bless.
