I was a childhood friend of Cathy's growing up in Flatlands. We lost touch after we graduated from high school but reconnected through Facebook in 2010. Through our messages I learned of her very happy life with her loving husband and children & partners that she was so very proud of. And then the absolute joy of bring a grandmother. Cathy always had a positive & encouraging comment for everyone and a smile that will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to the family. She will be dearly missed by many people. ðŸ™ðŸ»

When I heard the news of Cathy's unexpected passing, I was immediately taken back to 1970 when she left Flatlands for Montreal to "conquer the world". She and a couple of others from that graduating class stayed with me that summer while they looked for employment, were all successful with finding good jobs, and finally saved enough money to get their own apartment. After Cathy moved to London we lost touch but we always knew what was happening in her life as we were cousins and other family members kept us up to date. Facebook brought us back together and we were so enjoying communicating again. I was always proud to know what a wonderful wife, mother and very loyal and dedicated grandmother Cathy became. Her family meant the most to her. To her entire family I extend my most sincere sympathy. Cathy was a great girl and I consider myself very lucky to have called her a friend. Ruth Chesser Oshawa
We don't have all the answers to life's questions and when something happens that we don't understand, we must cherish the things that matter most how often we laughed how deeply we loved how very much we cared To Cathy's family, my heart is full of sadness at your unexpected loss. Cathy was a warm and wonderful person - always family first. Cherish her memories. I know I will.

We had a lot of good laughs together and I remember how she loved the fly swatter (a work related thing). She was always proud of her family. Hugs to you all.
