Christopher John Arscott
January 2, 2026
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at LHSC University Hospital on January 2, 2026, Chris Arscott, at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Sue (Susan) Arscott (née Sheppard) for 55 years. Cherished father of John Arscott (Kate) and Claire Arscott (Matt). Predeceased by his dear sister Diane (December 2025) and in 2019 by his brother John. Will be sorely missed by his sister-in-law Hilary Cornish (Scott), his sister-in-law Mary Lou of Ottawa and his brother Bill (Margaret) of Toronto. His many nephews and nieces will always remember their fun Uncle Chris.
Chris loved life, his family and work. He was an entrepreneur with an enquiring mind and a brilliant sense of humor (a quote from one of his dearest friends). He always steered the conversation away from himself, very skillfully, and over the years was involved in many projects, but not many people knew the scope of his exploits. He loved a challenge and was always thinking of his next invention.
While raising John and Claire, Chris spent his spare time touring the city, catching up with friends and business associates along the way. In the warmer months, he cherished time in the backyard pool and created many unforgettable memories during family trips to Paignton House.
Chris enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, with golf becoming his most enduring passion. He loved both the game and the camaraderie, and he carried countless fond memories from his time at Echo Valley, Riverbend, and The Hermitage. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all of Chris’ friends for the joy and companionship they brought to his life.
The Arscott family would also like to express their deep gratitude to the healthcare providers who supported Chris in his final years, with special thanks to Ash for her exceptional care and kindness.
Chris was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at a later date.

Sending my condolences to Susan and Family throu this difficult time . Chris will be very missed .
Mr. Arscott, I will always be deeply grateful to you for raising such a generous, intelligent, kind, loyal, and honorable son. Those qualities don’t come by chance—they are taught, modeled, and lived every day, and John carries them because he learned them from you. I’ve always known you as a warm, gregarious, larger-than-life presence—someone whose spirit filled the room and made people feel welcome the moment they arrived. In this life, we are given both our biological family and our chosen family, and you helped shape mine in ways I am forever richer for. Thank you for giving me a brother and for being such a caring presence in my wife’s life. Through John, Claire, and your nieces and nephews, your love and values continue to live on, quietly and powerfully, in all of them. Thank you for everything you gave, and for the lives you touched. Rest peacefully.
On behalf of my late parents, John and Beryl Symonds. I would just like to acknowledge how much Chris was loved by them both. My Mother, in particular, would’ve been so sad to hear of his passing. Although I hadn’t seen Chris in many years, I have such fond memories from childhood visits to Canada, of a gentle, warm person. I send much love to all of Chris’s family (in particular Susan, John and Claire) from us, here in the UK. Thinking of you all. Anna xxx
I knew Chris as "Claire's Dad". Claire (and John) - I'm sorry for the loss of your dad, and to "OM" for the loss of your spouse. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.
Chris and I shared many conversations over the years. So often, he would end up smiling, with a twinkle in his eye. I'll miss that spirit of a love of life. My condolences to Susan, John & Claire, Kate & Matt.
