David ‘Dave’ William Barr
August 12, 2017
Suddenly, on Saturday, August 12th, 2017, at home in his 58th year, we lost our beloved father, husband, son, brother and dear friend. Dave’s career spanned 30 years with the London Fire Department. In June 2015 he retired and was looking forward to spending time doing absolutely nothing! He will always be cherished and sadly missed by his wife, Charmaine; his sons, Derek and Michael; his daughter, Ashley; his mother, Barbara; and sisters, Janice and Lisa. Predeceased by his father, Robert Barr. He is survived by a large family that will miss his presence always. His humour and laughter will resonate with us forever. He was widely respected by those that had the good fortune to know him and work with him. The memorial service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Dave are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Wounded Warriors Canada or #IveGotYourBack911.
We are broken and will love and miss you forever.

Angela, my condolences to you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss, know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of each other.
I worked at number six firehall opposite Dave. I loved his soft voice and dry wit. He had an infectious smile. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Rest in peace Dave.
Barbara & Family; So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you with love.
Love from your PCCA family.
Derek and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
I can't honestly say that I knew Dave all that well. That said, Charmaine is one of the finest, most down to earth people I've ever met and she certainly wouldn't marry anyone of less than exemplary character. Our sincerest condolences. We will be thinking of you from a family reunion in Kingston this weekend. All the best, call anytime. Chuck-les, xoxo.
Dave is my best friend. Since kindergarten we have had a very special bond of quiet friendship. If Dave's heart was donated, I would love to meet that person. That blessed individual would know and enjoy humour, family, valued friends and being alone. Yes being alone is important. Our time together was spent catching up and planning our next outing. Dave loved his family so much and bragged about his boys. We will miss him terribly. Charmaine, Derek and Michael...our thoughts, love and prayers are with you always. Love Andy & Glenna Britton
