Deborah Jane Turnbull

August 2, 2023

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family in London, Ontario on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Beloved wife of Gord for 37 years. Loving mother of Lena (Mike) and Gus (Ankita). Adored grandmother of Dean Robert. Much loved Godmother to JoJo, Jolynne and Melinda.  Predeceased by grandson Robert Joseph.

Debbie spent her career in Social Services, helping children and families in times of need and crisis. She also had a passion for assisting newcomers to Canada, some who became part of her family. Debbie was the “master planner and tipster”, the centre of her family, and a mother who became best friends with her children. She cherished and cultivated her countless close friendships, making everyone feel special. Debbie loved her garden, planning social events, bringing people together, and travelling with friends and family.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., and will continue on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m.

Those wishing to make a donation in Debbie’s name are asked to consider LUSO Community Services, the London Food Bank, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

Dear Turnbull family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Debbie. She was so inviting, caring, nurturing, funny, and the best cook ever. I’ll never forget her trying to teach me to make caesar salad dressing or famous enchiladas recipe, blasting her music in the living room and making us all feel at home in her house. Deepest condolences to you all. Sincerely, Katrina
