The world lost one of its sweetest, most gentle souls on August 7th, 2015 with the peaceful passing of Denise Ireland, (75) at Parkwood Institute Palliative Care Unit in London, after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. Denise was a strong woman, who radiated kindness and found great joy in making the people around her happy. She maintained a positive attitude through any challenges placed before her, creating an aura of contentment that put everyone at ease. One of her proudest accomplishments was the completion of her Social Work degree from the University of Windsor. Born March 1940, daughter of the late Hans Oscar & Margery Berlin in White Fox, Saskatchewan. She will be missed greatly by her brothers Bernie (Deanna) Berlin, Don Berlin, Ross Corby, sisters Lori Plotsky & Elaine Mackenzie. Predeceased by siblings Deana, Clarence, & Allen. “Auntie Deni” will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memories will be cherished always by her children. Tara, Krista, Shawna, Cathy & Shelley. Precious grandmother of Shawn (Christine) Hopkins, Troy Hopkins, McKenna, Hali Callow & Jax Ireland-Wills. Great Grandmother to Kylie & Ty Hopkins. Denise will be deeply missed by long time dear friend Karen De Koning. Denise and her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all close friends, medical team members and family who have offered their support near and far. You made a huge difference in our lives and we truly appreciate you. Denise was such a Godly and sweet lady. She shined with the love of the Lord. She always had an encouraging word and a hug for me. I know that she is with the Lord, healthy, and happy. We are so sorry for your loss and praying for you all.
My deepest condolences for your loss Tara and Krista. I never knew your Mom but I know that she passed on her amazing personality, quick wit and work ethic to you girls. My thoughts are with you and don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything.
We have lost a remarkable lady with this passing. She will always hold a special place in my heart. My grandmother, Florence Hendrix and I considered her family. Her life was full of love, faith, and family. Her memory will never fade, and her legacy lives on in each of our lives. We are all blessed to have known her and honored to have been touched by her beacon of light in this life. I look forward to seeing her again in her new body filled with peace. On a personal note...I'll never forget our late night girl talks around the dining room table. She was the coolest mom I know. Love and hugs to the ones she left behind.♡♡♡♡
Auntie Deni had a spark to her that is hard to find. She could light up a room or a phone conversation with her smile and laugh. I already miss our phone calls and emails. Sending hugs to my cousins and I hope your wonderful memories of her put smiles on your faces.
I know my family and I will greatly miss Sis. Denise. Tried to make sure I saw her when she lived around the corner from mom and dad in Chatham during my visits home. She was a great friend to mom and know she is disappointed she will not be able to make it to her celebration of life. I know she was proud of all her kids and grandkids, she left her mark on each life she touched. My deepest sympathies to the family left behind. Hoping you find comfort knowing she is with the Lord and those who have gone before.
Denise and I have known each other for about 34 years. My two oldest children are the same age as Tara and Krista. Our lives took us in different directions at times but we were always joined in our hearts and spirits. Our spiritual journey was always special and an important part of relationship. I am so thankful the Lord brought us back together as her illness was progressing so that we could have that time together sharing, praying and giving of affection. She will always be dear to my heart and look forward when we will be together for eternity!! Love you Denise!!
Tara & Krista We send our love and sincere prayers and condolences to both of you at this time. We will miss Sister Denise and cherish the times that we shared. Sincerely Joe & Susan
My thoughts and prayers are with your family in the loss of your mother, grandmother and great friend. I remember Denise as one of her pastors years ago. Our paths crossed over the years and she was always upbeat and engaged with life. Marg Moriyama
Sorry for your loss to Aunt Deni's siblings, children, and friends. I only got to meet her once recently and maybe when I was little, but I was able to connect with her instantly and enjoyed her. She loved her children, all of them, that I know. She had love and understanding in her soul. I'm her niece under her brother Ross Corby. She was pretty hip and with it with her journey in life. A women who got her strength from our mutual higher power in Jesus. Pretty funny too. We will meet again aunty. Blessings to all family and friends.
So sorry for your loss, Tara and Krista. She was a wonderful lady. I am so glad that I was able to get reacquainted with her when we moved to Chatham. She will be enjoying life on the other side by now, but I know how hard it will be for her family. We'll be praying for you.
Extending deepest sympathies to you girls, Tara, McKenna, Hali, and Krista and Jax, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You have suffered a tremendous loss in losing such a wonderful mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Noone could have loved you all more, and she certainly was very proud of you all. You all were the centre of her world. May I pass on condolences from Al, Colin and Lorenda as well as Ross Jr. in Australia; he enjoyed meeting her on his Canadian trip 7 years ago and wanted to be remembered to the family. May God give you peace and comfort, and carry you through this very sad time. Love you, Lori
My husband and I were deeply saddened to learn that Denise has passed away. We always enjoyed meeting her with her lovely children Tara and Krista. She was a gentle soul and always smiling. We were sorry when they moved to London. May God give you strength to bear your loss.
