Donald “Don” Albert Moir
July 22, 2022
Peacefully at home after a short illness, Don passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, with his family by his side. Don was the loving husband of Heather for 60 years. He was the proud father of Stacey (Peter) and Lee (Bart). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alex (Nicole), Brianne (Mike) and Cole.
After 38 years with the London Life Insurance Company, Don retired early, along with Heather, to their country dream property, Dunroamin. They spent many happy years there before moving to the Riverbend Golf Community. When they weren’t off cruising the world, they could often be found on the fairways both at home and Myrtle Beach.
Don loved to be active, and besides his passion for golf he enjoyed travel, bridge, curling, snowshoeing and a good scotch. He was generous in spirit and gave his time to help family, friends and his community. He was often helping someone with a home improvement project. His most recent passion was being a landlord to one of the Purple Martin houses at Riverbend.
At Don’s request there will be no funeral. A Gathering to Remember Don will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Riverbend Golf Community Club House, 1200 Sandy Somerville Drive, London. Those wishing to make a donation in Don’s memory are asked to consider Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, Mount Brydges, Ontario, or a charity of their choice.
