Donald ‘Don’ Dwain MacMillan

April 20, 2019

With profound sadness, the family of Don MacMillan (age 87) announces his peaceful passing in London, Ontario on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

Devoted husband of the late Irene MacMillan (Campbell), and loving father of Eric MacMillan, Shari Ferguson, Alison Caldwell (Duncan) and Kirk MacMillan. Dearest grandfather of Julia and Alexi MacMillan.

Don always put family ahead of career. Nevertheless, he retired as a director of the Department of Public Works in Ottawa, Canada.

First and foremost, Don loved his wife and family. He was an avid loyal sports fan and athlete in his day. Friends and family loved his humour and his joy of life. Don was never short on a witty response, joke or political banter. He was smart, strong, thoughtful, accepting, kind and honourable.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Don are asked to consider the Ottawa Eye Institute or London Ivey Eye Institute.

Eric, Shari, Allison and Kirk Our condolences. I always remember your dad with a smile and friendly handshake and what appeared to be this mischievous glint in his eyes.

When I think of the word 'Family' - your's is what comes to mind. The love you had and continue to have for each other became evident to me when you gave me the opportunity to play for your mom and dad. Truly a time I will cherish forever. You showed your dad what it meant to be loved! I know both Mom, Dad and their memories will be with you forever.

~ Lynn

My sincere condolences to you and your family Ali. I pray that the love of family and friends bring you some comfort.
