Dear Norm: What a delight to have known you for about 55 years when you were a part of Glen Cairn Baptist Church with Donna. You were a real encouragement through the years. May the Lord sustain you today and we look forward to enjoying eternity together with Christ. May you rest in God's steadfast love. Pastor Jim Rendle

David & I came to know Donna & Norm during our ministry years at Calvary Baptist Church in Guelph from 1995-2002. Donna sweet spirit and humor was an encouragement to us and she and Norm invited us to their home on several occasions for a delicious meal! We continued to exchange Christmas Cards over the years and when Donne could not write out cards she would return our card with a lovely phone call! We enjoyed visiting them in London, ON a few times and enjoyed seeing their new place of residence! Donna's presence will be deeply missed by those closest to her and by her many friends! While she is in the presence of her Lord, her absence among us is a deeply felt loss! Our prayers are with her husband Norm and their gals and grandson as they grieve her loss!

Dear Norm, Julia and Kari, I will be forever grateful for the encouragement in my new found faith in Christ, that the Aitken's provided through Sunday dinners, friendship over the years and enabling us to serve in cross-cultural ministry for decades! Well done Donna and our thoughts and prayers to you Norm and family. Deepest love,

~ Naomi and Jim Klaas

Mrs. Aitken was such a fun and crazy and silly youth leader. That's why I loved her! More importantly, I knew that she cared for others. Her involvement with the Word of Life teens proved her love and care. Only a crazy and caring person would put up with teenagers like me. Most importantly, I knew that Mrs. Aitken's love for the Lord was real. She was an example of a Godly lady. My love to Mr. Aitken, Julie, and Kari.

~ Cheryl Snell- Baber

You are all in our prayers and thoughts. We will miss Donna in this earthly realm, but because of our faith and trust in Jesus, we will see her again, in a much more peaceful and glorious setting. Because of Donna's devotion and love for her Savior, I am sure He clearly said 'Well done good and faithful servant'

~ Harry, Ted and Bonnie Aitken

We remember Donna's and Norm's hospitality while we were at the University of Guelph and have used it as our pattern for welcoming in people to our home. Yes, our favourite was the smell of an oven baked roast, carrots and potatoes when we were invited to the Aitken's home in Acton. These are very good memories for us over 45 years later!!!

Condolences to Norm, Julia and Kari. How true are the words of the song : JEALOUS OF THE ANGELS, "There will be another Angel around the Throne tonight" and as the Word of The Lord promised that is where you are tonight. The world is poorer spiritually with the loss of this great and honourable Lady who lived and displayed what christianity truly means. She loved and embraced everyone despite colour, creed, race or status. I must say that I was most fortunate to cross paths with her. I thank Norm and the Aitken family for sharing her with me. I remembered those days at Tidey Avenue, Acton when she prepared a banquet for the young people on Sundays after church. She always made it eventful and most enjoyable. Dear Donna, death may have been your last chapter in time but your first chapter in eternity. Goodbyes in this life are but temporary, so until we meet again ... Rest in Peace. To Kari and the rest of the family, I was so sorry to hear the news about your mom's passing, but hoping that you are knowing peace that comes in knowing, she is now with our Saviour and has crossed over into her Heavenly Home. My memories of your mom go back to the days when I was invited by you, to the family cottage in the Port Franks area. She was a lot of fun and I always felt so welcomed there, by her and all the family. Please accept my heart felt condolences at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

~ Mary (Rowe) Goral

We send our condolences to you. Although the news brought back memories of the passing of both our mothers we were able to replace them with fonder memories of Aunt Donna; such as the many Aitken Christmas dinners we all shared and the great zoom conference for Dad's birthday. She will always be remembered. We know your faith will guide and support you in the days ahead.

Mrs Aitken was a wonderful woman who loved Jesus deeply and that was evident in the way she lived. Both she and Mr Aitken would be the first to volunteer and help at their church and always showed God's love to everyone they met. Mrs Aiken had a wonderful sense of humour and was so welcoming of anyone into their home. Knowing her will always be treasured in our hearts and minds. Our prayers are with you Mr Aitken, Julia , Karitas and all your family.
