Doris Evelyn Hall

September 11, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Evelyn Hall, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 85.

Doris (née Elliott, formerly Wilton) was the beloved wife of the late Douglas C. Hall, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years. Together, Doris and Doug built a life filled with love, music, dancing, friendship, and adventure. They successfully operated a lottery kiosk at Oxbury Mall for 16 years and later owned Art U Frame It, a picture-framing store.

Doris is survived by and was a devoted mother to Richard Wilton (Cathy) of Mississauga, Randall (Lynn), and Roger (Annette, predeceased 2025) both of London; her stepdaughter Tonji Hall of Texas; sister Shirley May (née Elliott) of Strathroy, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A woman of remarkable determination, Doris was especially proud of earning her Bachelor of Degree in Administrative Management from the University of Western Ontario. She went on to devote much of her life to empowering women and serving her community.

A member of BPW London since 1987, Doris served as Club President in 1989, BPW Ontario President in 2000, and BPW Canada President in 2010. She later became BPW Canada’s first Women’s Empowerment Chair. She co-founded the Canadian Coalition to Empower Women and supported women’s equality initiatives across Canada and internationally. She also served the London community through the Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition and the CNIB.

Doris was a longtime member of ECKANKAR, and a lover of country music and dancing. She will be remembered for her courage, compassion, generosity, joyful spirit, and unwavering belief in the potential of others.

Doris once wrote of her life with Doug: “Meeting him and spending 49 years together was a miracle in my life.” Her love, energy, and brilliant light will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
